Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to tip?

Absolutely not. Aches Away Toronto is positioned as more of a health clinic than a spa so we definitely do not require a tip. However if you must, we will not refuse.

You can always show your appreciation by referring friends, family and co-workers to the Massage Therapist. Or give us a good review… It always helps.

Do you do Couples Massage?

No. Couples Massages are a great way to achieve many goals at once and we would love to offer it one day. Unfortunately we just don’t have the space for that. We are positioned more as a clinic then a Spa, and so we try to focus on helping our patients with specific pain and injury complaints.

I have specific issues that I would like dealt with. Which Massage service do you recommend?
Countless times, our clients have told us about previous experiences where their therapist worked on everything but what they actually needed. That is why we created the “No Frills” Massage. A targeted high intensity treatment that gets to the root of the problem. For those that simply wish to relax and tune out, we have the “All the Frills” Massage. You can also choose treatments specific to Pregnancy and Sports Injuries/Performance.

I booked for a 45 minute massage of which I had expected to get a full 45 minute massage session. However because it was my first time, My therapist went through my injury/pain history which ate into the time of the appointment for roughly 10-15 minutes, leaving only 30 minutes of massage time. Don’t get me wrong, this is great as it helped her to target very specific areas and I appreciate it greatly. But I guess I was under the impression that the time that I had booked for the appointment would be used solely for the massage.

Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario are Health Professionals. It is our legal responsibility to help you with your complaint. We use a health history and a detailed assessment to figure out the issue, then we create a treatment plan and treat based on that. As such an appointment with an RMT is not all massage – that is irresponsible and illegal.

However, if you are looking for ‘just a masssage’ you are welcome to choose the ‘All the Frills’ option which is specifically designed for stress relief and relaxation and does not require a lengthy assessment. You may also visit one of Toronto’s many fine spas.

Our therapists spends hundreds of hours every year upgrading their skills so that we can help you better. We get better results because we test and not guess.

For these reasons, Assessment is part of our treatment and is included in the time that you have booked.

The earliest appointment is in 3 weeks, I would like one sooner. What can I do?
1. Try booking a 45 minute appointment. Usually there are a few odd times that are available.
2. Check often. We get multiple cancellations daily and they show up as open spots instantly on our schedule. Check now!
3. Just book the first available appointment that works for your schedule. Future ‘you’ will thank Present ‘you’

*Please note. We don’t book same day appointments over the phone (no receptionist). You can try online but it is first come first served.
