So many of us, in our hurried lives rely on over-the-counter medications to remedy the chronic pain we experience. Quick fixes for back pain, spinal issues, herniated discs, and general muscle soreness do not improve long term health and could instead lead to further problems. Administering meds to treat symptoms does nothing to solve the underlying problem and only masks pain. Unlike some who say, “Pain is weakness leaving the body,” we see painful symptoms as your body’s way of communicating. If you feel pain, please listen and take the next steps to treat the cause of the pain instead of telling your pain to be quiet. Instead of ignoring painful symptoms or avoiding movements that hurt you, visit our clinic to begin recovering and treating pain at its source.

We will work with you towards pain-free living and recommend the appropriate massage treatment to combat aching or sore muscles, joint aches, or stress. Let our highly trained Massage Therapy Clinical Therapists rid your body of the pain you carry to help you find a lasting solution to pain management.

All massage sessions begin with a discussion of your goals and problem areas so your therapist can customize treatment based on the needs and challenges your body presents.

Frequently Asked Questions About Massage Therapy

Will I be undressed during my massage?

At Aches Away, you comfort is central to our practice. You make the choice as to how much you undress during your therapy session and feel free to ask your therapist for guidance. Your therapist will ask you to specify parts of the body to focus on which ones you prefer they avoid. It is always about your comfort level. You will have time to undress privately before your massage begins. During your massage, you will be properly covered to keep you comfortable.

How do I find the right therapist?

Start your search for the right practitioner here on our website to identify the type of massage you need and the therapists who specialize in that particular form of touch therapy. You can also choose to contact us with questions regarding who will provide the best fit for your needs.

What are the health benefits of regular massage therapy?

Massage is more than a simple reward for your hard work. The many benefits of massage include increased relaxation, pain reduction, stress relief, and injury recovery. Massage is also offered to address the specific needs needs of athletes, or those struggling with fibromyalgia, insomnia, or migraine headaches.

Can one session ‘fix’ my problem?

While many patients leave one session and experience immediate relief of a chronic pain, others require ongoing treatment to see significant improvement of symptoms. Since medical treatments improve through relationship building, you can expect that each time you return your therapist will learn your preferences and move your body closer to long-term benefits.

What is included in the time scheduled for my massage session?

Each session begins with time to communicate with your therapist so he/she is able to customize treatment to your individual needs. You will then have time to undress privately and prepare for your massage.

Are there any reasons I should avoid massage?

Because massage is a non-invasive, non-medicinal treatment, it is a safe treatment for most patients, however there are cases when massage is not the right treatment option. For people suffering high blood pressure, deep-vein, thrombosis, and some skin conditions we suggest you check with our clinic prior to scheduling with us. If you experience dizziness, have suffered an accident, or have a fever, then it would be wise to postpone a scheduled massage.

Is it okay if I do not talk during my session?

Whether your personality is introverted or extraverted, you deserve the right massage experience to help you relax. Talk as much or as little as you need, but we recommend communicating to your therapist in order guide the amount of pressure you receive and especially if you experience any discomfort.
